| Hmm If this is our role play forum shall we begin to disscus a setting? Chuck your ideas out for it...not saying we have to start any time soon but it perhaps we can just get a general idea...of where or when. So yeah this is my little list of possible settings...
Modern day Fantasty Sci-fi Steampunk Dystopia Utopia Victorian or nepolianic era Alternate history (As in perhaps the bubonic plauge stayed around for much longer [i.e. till afew hundred years ago] and so technology is hardly taken off society structure is vastly different and the world hasn't really been damaged yet by humans.
but yes throw your ideas around guys and see if we can get a general idea maby. ^^ | |

| I like the alternative reality idea--being a "RP 101" theme, we should probably stick with something everyone would have a simpler time with | |

| I personally am a huge fan of alternate reality. I love to think of alternate outcomes for significant historical events. Steampunk is also FTFW. I also like the US as a setting, mostly cause I'm a little biased, cause I'm from there. :3 | |

| Ireland would be a fun place to base it in... Or maybe some where in Europe... We could have a hell of a story in Europe... And randomly meeting strangers isn't uncommon as a lot of westerners back pack across europe. Or even some sort of arms deals in the middle east.... I can always play a good I don't give a fudge about you I'm in it for the money kind of guy. | |

| Europe is a very tiny place that is packed full of people and places. That would make a perfect setting. Now, me personally, I like the modern era, it's a lot easier to work with. We can always refer to how the places are, while still keeping it imaginative, if that makes any sense. Also, we all get to use silly accents! : D | |

| hmm alternate reality stuff i'd good but there is one downside...we really need to have alot of good background info...so if we do, do alternate realality we will need a heap of planning. Personality I'm up for any of them but as for the place...sci-fi and fantasy lets us create worlds which is always good but if we are in this one...I'm afraid i really don't do acents well...I'll have to be he normal speaking irish bloke.... but yes I'm up for pretty much anything... | |

| Well, I'm all about insanely planning intricately detailed, unnecessary backgrounds for no reason whatsoever, that's why I love alternate history. And as far as accents go, I was just kidding. I was still gonna use my southern accent, cause that's what I'm comfortable with, and since it's my actual dialect, will sound more natural than some contrived fake accent. What a southerner is doing in alternate reality Europe would be a mystery though. X3 Also, It wouldn't be that difficult for you to pull off a British accent, since an Aussie's manner of speech differs only on a level that only someone from Australia or Europe would notice. (Yes, we are easily entertained here in North America.)

| LOL I can tell Aussies apart from Brits... But then again I used to hang out with a lot of British kids... The way their voice sounds is very similar but the terms they use are very very different... | |

| yeah i must say there is rather a difference between English and Australian dialect. Also England has far to many different acents anyway...North accent then south acent and then theres raiation in them...England has a bloody heap of them...but yes Volk, if i ca entertain someone with jsut me speaking then thats just too bloody brilliant as far as I'm concerned... | |

| Yes, when speaking to an actual person, the differences are very noticeable. But, what I was saying is that through text, your not really going to notice it. Also, you used the phrase Bloody Brilliant! I was entertained :3 | |

| So, now that we have settled on Ireland as the setting, we need a name, and a starting point for a story. I was in favor of alternate reality for the RP. Any ideas? | |

| We could have modern day Kingdoms and fights for land... Like in the old days.... Only with guns... Think of it kind of like a mesh of civil wars. Like as if people had never gained their freedom from the royalty and were still serving in the small shires just out side the kingdom. Only with all the modern day commodities. Not saying the peasants would be able to afford them but nobles clergy and royalty could. Kind of like a lot of China right now. Or India | |
